Today You

Today you woke up at 6:45, giggling as you surprised mommy in her bathroom

Today you had toast with peanut butter AND jelly, cut into little triangles for breakfast. And some cantalope slices. And some of mommy's "chocolate smoothie"

Today with your friends at school, you made cookies, played pirates & princesses, sang happy birthday to your friends, and actually didn't have much drama

Today you waited patiently for Mommy Jessica time, when you got to eat a cliff bar & read two books with mommy

Today you wrestled with your sister on more than one occasion

Today you are 3 1/2- don't forget the 1/2!

Today you posed for a mini photoshoot for mommy (see below)

Today you wore your hair in two piggy buns like when you were little, and you announced you looked like Kai-Lan

Today you are a sass-a-frass big girl

Today you made your mommy smile and laugh and feel so, so proud of the little girl you are

The D Family

My very first paid (all my other photoshoots have been gifts from me), and very first time I had never met the family before, photoshoot!

I've said before, and I'll say it again- I'm not trying to be a photographer. This isn't what I want to do for a living. I love my preschool and being with the kiddos all day, but photography is another passion and this is really fun to do on the side. So, as long as its worth my while, I'll have fun with it.

The D family found me when I took a 2 year old shoot back in May- the mom liked the pictures and got my info. So flattered that they wanted to use me! And now I actually know how to use PSE, makes for much better editing!

A few of my favorites:

I love having kids hold up how many fingers they are. So cute

Daddy & son dressed alike. So cute- and i love how little guy is holding his dad's hand

Thanks for looking!

Hula!

We recently saw a free Hula show at a local park. Jessica and some of her friends had just signed up to take a hula class, so it was the perfect thing to get her excited. They even managed to get Jessica and mommy to dance in front of everyone!

Tantrums

Not sure why I love these pictures so much, because i sure do NOT like the tantrums! but they really make me laugh. Izzy is getting really good at the random, out of no where, only a toddler can throw, ridiculous tantrums. I thought her sister was good, but man- Izzy has got her beat!

Today you

Woke up at 6:45. And then woke up your sister. Thats how its working in your "sister room" these days. Mommy wishes you had slept just 15 minutes longer...

You ate cheerios in a cup with almond milk, bananas, and with a spoon- just like your big sister, for breakfast.

Your bottom one year molars are coming in and made you a bit cranky.

You played and fought and loved on your little boyfriend Sohum.

You were a bit jealous of the new baby, Brooke. She is two months younger than you, so you are no longer the baby. I think that makes you kinda mad. Makes mommy kinda sad (that you're no longer the baby)

You threw most of your dinner on the floor.

You were fussy when going to bed, which is really rare.

Daddy read you a story and put you down, and gave you a cuddle. One of your favorite parts of the daY

inspired by Ali Edwards "Today You"
Been sort of doing it with Jessica off and on since she turned one, and now my goal is to do one a month of each girl. keep it simple, just the picture an the text on 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, maybe a strip of pattern paper, all in a book.
We'll see how it goes :)

Miss A's 1 year photo shoot

Had the pleasure of shooting little Miss A's one year old photoshoot- I've known her since before she was born! Her mama has worked with me since I was pregnant with Jessica. Its so fun to have watched her get married and start her beautiful family!
Some of my favorites:

this one kills me- one of the first pictures taken, and one of the few with her smiling-but doesn't she just look like she knows she's cute??
love the daddy girl love

and seriously, could they BE a more beautiful family??
the slide pics were a very impromtu (sp?) idea, but i LOVE how they turned out!!!

Sister Love

I am loving watching Izzy follow her big sister around.
Maybe its because I never had a sister, and I was the oldest
Its all new to me.
And its so awesome
Izzy wants to do anything and everything that big sister does
From playing with certain toys, to helping with the dishes.
I know that I will sound like a broken record when they are older and fighting and I still tell them
"I never had a sister- you're so lucky that you do"
And I know there will be times where they are not going to get along, far from it
But I am hoping they will grow up to be best of friends
Sisters that I see so many of my friends have, that I didn't get to experience
I am loving living vicariously through them :)
