Izzy's Elmo Party

Few highlights from Izzy's Elmo bday party.
Please note that Izzy barely even watches Elmo, yet she insisted on a "Blue Elmo" party
So here it is!
I'm obsessed with making these Martha Stewart puff balls (guess they're called pom poms. Whatevs)
This particular combo is perfect for 4th of July- too bad I haven't figured out a way to store them...

An outtake from her mini-photoshoot (that was taken after I woke her up for her party!)
Skirt was a little short..... had to add some pants!
Its really hard trying to get a decent family picture...

We played with bubbles...
Greeting her friends!
Little bit of thumb sucking here and there...
Practicing the blow toy (we call them butterfly tounges)
Pinata!
Enjoying a piece of candy from the pinata, that mommy had to eventually just pull open on dump the candy out of
Fancy Elmo cupcakes from my friend Stephanie's Hey There, Cupcake

Singing "Happy Birthday" and blowing out the candles! (had to move inside since it was so windy outside!)

Delicious
We opened presents after everyone left.  We learned the hard way with Jessica's 2nd bday that present opening can get reeeeeeeeeeeeeallly crazy with a bunch of 2 year olds
Love her cheesy face when she's showing off some of her gifts to her Papa (Grandpa Adams, my dad)
The chaos after opening all the presents
Tried to keep it a mellow party, didn't go overboard or stress the details that much.
Izzy had a great time and loved every minute.
It was perfect :)

This little girl.......

Is already 2.  TWO!  TWO YEARS OLD!
Thats so big :(
I don't know why I'm having such a hard time with my baby not being a baby anymore.
I think partially its because, when Jessica turned two I was 3 months away from giving birth to Izzy.
This time? Not even close to another baby.
We do want one, and hopefully we will be able to have another in the future,
but right now its not in the cards.
I also don't even know why I want another one when I have my hands FULL with the two I have....
But thats beside the point.
The point is, my chubba bubba big baby girl is no longer a baby.
She's practically not even a toddler.
She's a big girl (with very little hair. We're working on that)
She's got a big heart, a big personality, a big budda belly.
She makes me crazy and makes me laugh and makes me so very happy.
Love watching her grow, but wish she would slow down a little bit

Isabella Johanna is 2 years old!

At 2 years old, Miss Izzy J. is

HUGE, already wearing 3T clothes.  She and Jessica can already swap clothes....
About 32 lbs, in the 90th percentile for both height and weight
A total comedienne.  Loves to make the whole family laugh every night at the dinner table
Totally potty trained, until she decides shes not.
Ridiculous- and the best tantrum thrower ever
Loves to be held.  Which is hard on the holder, because she IS pretty heavy
A total cuddle bug
A mommy's girl AND a daddy's girl
Loves her big sister, always wants to know what Jessica is doing
Has the cutest little lisps and says the funniest things.  I'm loving listening to her talk and tell stories
A big fan of Elmo, even though she doesn't really watch him on TV.  Not sure how the obsession started....
Loves the color blue. And pink. And red. But I'm not sure how many of them she really knows.
Can count to 10, when she feels like it
Makes the best cheesy faces ever
Don't know what she would do with out her thumb- she loves both of them so very much!
Has so many little friends and fans at school
Even though she can also be a total turkey and hit and push and bite. (not that often though)
She has the most intense personality of the family, she loves to laugh, she loves to cry, she loves to bring the drama, and we all love her so very very much.  I can't believe my baby is officially no longer a baby :(
Your mama, daddy and big sister all love you so very much Izzy J!

picture coming soon- haven't even taken it yet! she's currently at "tea" with her grammy for mothers day :)

Baby's first haircut!

No more mullet!

No before and after shots. Because really, there wasn't that much hair to begin with. Just had to trim the mullet a bit. My friend Rosana did it in our kitchen- I'm sure her next chop we will be taking a trip to the shop!
AS much as I disliked the mullet, it had started to grow on me, and I was surprisingly sad after she cut it off :( Got over that after a day or two, and now her "big girl" hair is looking so cute!

Got to love these class pics of the girls and Santa. Pretty much as good as last years
Poor Isabella. I think she may be scarred for life. But really, I have to have the pictures.

Isabella J is 18 months

(I cannot believe how time has flown. Izzy is 18 months? What? How did my baby grow so fast???)

At 18 months old, Miss Izzy J is:

Over 30 lbs, wearing 2t clothing, and very tall
Goes to bed at 6:30 and wakes up around 6:30am
Takes a 1 1/2 hour - 3 hour nap every day (Mommy prefers the 3 hour nap, but that is actually pretty rare)
Has a few random words- her first word (besides mama and dada) was "Baby"
Now says: bye, hi, yeah, see-saw, ball, baby, mooooooommmmmmyyyy, dada, and a few others we know she's saying, but her pronunciation just isn't quite there ;)
Will eat anything, but prefers to dump her plate at dinner time
Is very, VERY LOUD
All of her teeth have finally broken skin, except those molars. Mommy cannot wait for teething to be over
Is such a cuddler
And a total mama's girl/daddy's girl. Izzy loves her parents!
And her sister, though her sister is also the best person in the world for getting her really pissed off!
Will sit for almost 15 minutes to watch a video or movie. We can see the ligth! Two girls sitting quietly? What could that be like???
Loves to read "Good Night Moon" Every night befor bed.
Loves to sit on the potty, and has gone both 1 & 2. But mommy is just not ready to potty train yet.
Is a total show off, loves to make the whole family laugh, especially at dinner time
Kinda into Elmo. Even though she's never seen Seasme Street
Dance and sings to Justin Bieber. Knows that "Baby" is a Justin song. The joys of having a big sister
Loves to wear hats
And shoes
She is hilarious and loud and precious and mommy, daddy and big sister love her SOO Much

Today you

Woke up at 6:45. And then woke up your sister. Thats how its working in your "sister room" these days. Mommy wishes you had slept just 15 minutes longer...

You ate cheerios in a cup with almond milk, bananas, and with a spoon- just like your big sister, for breakfast.

Your bottom one year molars are coming in and made you a bit cranky.

You played and fought and loved on your little boyfriend Sohum.

You were a bit jealous of the new baby, Brooke. She is two months younger than you, so you are no longer the baby. I think that makes you kinda mad. Makes mommy kinda sad (that you're no longer the baby)

You threw most of your dinner on the floor.

You were fussy when going to bed, which is really rare.

Daddy read you a story and put you down, and gave you a cuddle. One of your favorite parts of the daY

inspired by Ali Edwards "Today You"
Been sort of doing it with Jessica off and on since she turned one, and now my goal is to do one a month of each girl. keep it simple, just the picture an the text on 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, maybe a strip of pattern paper, all in a book.
We'll see how it goes :)

Isabella's First Birthday Party!

So I just realized I haven't posted pictures of Izzy's first birthday party! Life has been crazy, and I'm hoping its going to be just a teeny, tiny less crazy now that school is done (Finally got my degree- woot!). So with out further ado.................... Ms. Isabella Johanna's First Birthday Party!
Check out the outfit- my friend Rosana's sister made it! Too cute!
(but I made the ridiculous flower bow)
Tried to do a mini-photo shoot in my new favorite photo shoot corner, but, um- kinda hard with a toddler!

Izzy is ONE! (tried so hard for her to do the 1 year old finger like her sister. Izzy seriously only does it when she feels like it. Like when she's running away from her pose and trying to escape the photoshoot.)

Look who she found!
She was dancing by the stereo. Love the bobbing baby dance

Margarita bar for the adults!
trying to get a baby shot. didn't turn out the way I expected. I wasn't planning on being in it, but it was the only way to get Izzy to stay!
Auntie Anne & Uncle Greg got her 100 small balls- and it was probably her favorite present.
Fabulous cupcakes by my friend Stephanie of Hey There, Cupcake. They taste as good as they look! But Izzy had mommy's gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, vegan cake. She didn't mind!
1 year old pinata! (For the bigger kids)

Sorry, random, out of order pictures.

How classic is this picture? Pour thing burst into tears when everyone started to sing to her. I don't think she was expecting it...... I love how she's grasping onto my arm in this pic

Once everyone stopped singing, she calmed down and ate some cake
Cake makes everything better
It was a gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, vegan cake. Got the recipe here. Yeah, sucks to be my kid (I need to do a post on my whole new diet/"way of life")
Happy, Happy Birthday to my beautiful one year old girl. I love you Miss Izzy J!
